Abbey loves to brush her teeth. She loves to use her Care Bear tooth brush. My sister, Jami, came and slept over at our house last week and Abbey was so excited to show Jami her Care Bear tooth brush.

Pink Toes

A couple weeks ago I wanted to paint my toes. Abbey decided to pick out my toenail polish, so of course she picked pink.

O Christmas Tree

Last night my family decorated the tree. Abbey was so excited, she could hardly wait to put the ornaments on and to see the lights.

Abbey loved putting all the ornaments on the tree. She kept asking for more decorations, she couldn't put them on fast enough!

As soon as we turned all the lights on Abbey decided she didn't like the tree. She told us to take all the ornaments off, and to turn off the lights. She's such a strange little duck! Perhaps she will like them more next year!

Last night my family went out and got a Christmas tree. Abbey absolutely loves the tree! She kept coming up to it and giving it hugs. She would then tell the tree "I love you tree!"

Abbey Sayings

Abbey is talking up a storm. Her speech is getting better on a daily basis. Abbey is also a very funny little girl; she says the funniest things. These are some of my favorite things she has said:

Abbey loves to play Hide-and-go-Seek. One time she was hiding in the pantry with my sister Jami. They were in there for probably 3 minutes when Abbey turned to Jami grabbed both of her cheeks, looked straight at her and said "Jay, I don't think Grandpa going to find us." Poor girl is probably going to have abandonment issues.

Me: "Abbey, whats your favorite princess"

Abbey: "Grandpa" I don't know where she came up with

that but it happens every time, it is hilarious. (Grandpa

doesn't find it as funny as the rest of us!)

You want to be careful how you drive when you're with Abbey because she will critique you. My mom was driving a little fast when Abbey yelled "Slow down Nana!!" Abbey still talks about Nana and how she has to slow down.

If you ever ask Abbey what her name is she replies, "Abbey Campbell Jean," she can't quite grasp the fact that Jean comes before Campbell.

Abbey has a really hard time pronouncing my brother, Scott's, name. She always calls him Chuck. I don't know how she picked that up but it's pretty darn funny.

A couple weeks ago I asked Abbey what she wanted for Christmas. She looked at me and said, "umm, cake." Well I guess Christmas is going to be cheap (and delicious) this year.

We are trying to teach Abbey to say 'excuse me'; however, when she says excuse me it sounds more like "Shoot me." Hopefully that won't last long.

On Sunday, Ryan sang in church, while he was singing Abbey kept pointing at him and telling everyone "My daddy up there!" Then she would say "Good singing dad." Afterwards Abbey told her grandpa, "My daddy is a good singer," it was so cute.

One of Abbey's favorite foods is pancakes. I gave her a pancake one morning, and when I turned around I saw her hugging her pancake and saying "I love you pancake!"

Abbey came in to watch my dad brush his teeth. He has an electric toothbrush that really hums. When he turned it on, Abbey jumped back and said with a startled expression, "Whoa!" Then as he was brushing for 5 seconds, she instructed Grandpa to spit it out. When he didn't immediately comply, she yelled in a panicked voice, "Spit it out Grandpa, spit it out!". "Take a drink Grandpa." "Spit it out, SPIT IT OUT!!!" Dad had to stop the teeth brushing, remove Abbey from the spectator gallery and return, with the door closed and locked, in order to brush for longer than 5 seconds without the help of his little Dental Assistant.

Abbey is such a cute little girl, I can't wait to see what crazy things she will say next.

Scooting Around

A couple months ago my dad came up to my house for the day. While he was there he taught Abbey how to use a scooter. Abbey had a blast riding around on the thing, she thought she was so cool and grown up.

Halloween

For Halloween this year Abbey was an 80's exercise lady. I already had all the stuff on hand so it was an easy costume, and I must say it turned out quite cute.

Abbey loved her costume, and especially loved dancing around in it.

Personally I think she looks like a little aerobics instructor showing us her skills in these pictures.

This year Abbey only went trick or treating at Nana's house. We were able to go over to my cousins, Ben and Sara's house where we met up with some of my other cousins. We had lots of fun hanging out with everyone.

Happy Birthday Mark! Whenever we are at Nana's house Abbey always has to point out the picture of Mark and tell me who it is. Abbey has Mark wrapped around her little finger, she always has a playmate when Uncle Mark is there. It's so cute to see Abbey with him, because she loves to drag him by the finger so he will play with her. We love you Mark and hope you have an amazing 26th birthday!!

Happy Birthday Grammy!!! We love you so much, and wish we were able to see you guys more. It's always so fun to hear Abbey talk about you. She loves coming to see and play with you. I was talking to her the other day and she even mentioned swimming in your pool and how fun that was, she also asked me if we were going to see you and was so sad when I told her no. I can't wait for the next time we come down to St. George so we can see you!!

Pumpkin Princess

On Thursday we went to a pumpkin patch with Abbey. She had a blast, she loved all the running around she got to do.

She loved picking the pumpkins.

We did a lot more fun activities there, but we kind of lacked in getting pictures. Abbey also got to see tons of animals. Not only did she get to ride a wagon, but she got to ride a train too. She also played in a big box of corn kernels (kind of like a sandbox).

We had so much fun, thanks Emilee and Darryl for inviting us!

Abbey sure does love her Aunt Megan. Abbey loves to tell me about her Aunt Megan. Abbey has to have Megan do everything for her, if you try to get her a drink when Megan is standing there Abbey will turn to you and say "No, Megan do it!" It's so fun to watch them together, Megan can get Abbey to laugh so hard, its just so cute. We love you Aunt Megan, we hope you have a lovely 21st birthday!!

Grandpa is always there to help Abbey enjoy the great outdoors. He takes her on walks, takes her to see the ducks, is always there to catch her at the bottom of the slide, and picks raspberries with her. Overall, he just spoils her rotten.

As everybody knows, Abbey has a huge Batman obsession thanks to this guy. This might be the first ever photo of them watching TV together.

What would we do without Grandpa? You were her first babysitter, and you continue to always be there when her parents need a break. We are so grateful for you. Abbey always lights up when she sees you. We love you so much, and hope you have a great birthday.

My sister was nice enough to bring home a big box from work that she thought Abbey would enjoy playing with. I had no idea that a box could provide so much entertainment, but Abbey loved it. She played in it for hours! She thought it was the best thing since sliced bread.

Abbey found these glasses at my parents house and has fallen in love with them! She loves to wear them, and thinks she is absolutely hilarious when she does wear them. As soon as they go on her face she looks at you and starts laughing. It's really cute to see how funny she thinks she is.

These glasses sure do make her a happy little girl!

Apparently these glasses not only show her funny side, they also bring out the gangster in her.

I decided to take over the blog today so I can wish my big sister one big fat Happy Birthday!!

Kari is such an amazing mom! It's always so cute to watch her with Abbey. My favorite is when I'm babysitting Abbey and Kari comes home. As soon as Abbey hears her voice Abbey will drop everything, look up at me, yell mama at the top of her lungs and run for her. I was watching Abbey and had to change her diaper, Abbey then looks up at me and said "No. Mama do it," apparently no one can change a diaper like Kari can!

Anyway, Happy 28th Birthday, you old woman!! Thanks for being such an awesome big sister!

Sprinklers

Earlier this month, I took Abbey over to a park by my parents house to play at the splash pad. The splash pad was sadly broken but, luckily the sprinklers were on so we went running through those instead.

Good Idea Turned Traumatic

Doesn't this baby look really cute? I thought she looked adorable, but Abbey would disagree. Abbey loves her baby. She carries her everywhere and loves to play with her. I thought that it would be a fun activity to get her doll ready for the day. I got these cute clothes and had it all planned out. We were going to wash her off with a baby wipe, change her diaper, put fake lotion on her, and then get her dressed. I thought Abbey would love getting her baby doll ready. I was wrong. As soon as the clothes went on the baby Abbey freaked out. She started screaming and crying. She then grabbed her baby and wouldn't let me touch it. Every time I came close to Abbey or her baby, Abbey would freak out and move so she was in front of her baby. She was so protective of her baby and simply would not have anything to do with the clothes. Abbey didn't let me close to her baby for the rest of the day. I guess I learned my lesson, never try to change a baby girl's doll's clothes; it can only end in tears.

Mini Golf

Last week my brother, Scott, was in town. For one last adventure we all went mini golfing before we sadly had to say goodbye to him. It was a lot of fun and Abbey really enjoyed her first golfing experience.

Abbey loved swinging at all the balls. After a swing or two she would be so proud of herself she'd pick up the golf balls and show them off like a trophy. Unfortunately she felt it necessary to pick up other people's golf balls and show them off as well.

At the end of the course Abbey waved to every ball as it went through the final hole. She had such a blast I think Dad might have a future golfing buddy.

Pacifier

For the last couple of months we have been trying to get Abbey to stop using her pacifier so much. We have limited her time with it. Now she can only have it when she is in the car, at church, or going to bed. Luckily for me it hasn't been too bad of a transition. Lately Abbey has been sick, so I decided that she can have her pacifier to play with and make her happy. I didn't realize how much she missed her pacifier until this happened...

Apparently she's decided that she is going to take advantage of this opportunity and get as much use out of the pacifiers as possible.

Abbey sure loves her Nana! She always runs around the house screaming "NANA!" at the top of her lungs. Whenever Nana leaves to go down the hall Abbey immediately drops everything and runs after her. The other day I was at the store, Abbey and I left Nana for a second to grab something. Well as soon as Nana was out of sight Abbey yelled "NANA!!!" It was the loudest word she has ever screamed. Even though we got a lot of funny looks I thought it was sure cute.

We have a lot to thank Nana for. The hat above is one example of the many things Nana has made for Abbey. Of course we have to mention the beautiful baby quilt she made. Thanks so much for all the things you do for us. We love you. Happy Birthday!

This is one of Abbey's new found loves. She loves to watch the old school Batman with my dad. When ever the tv goes on, she starts yelling "Atman," her version of Batman. Lately she has even started going around the house yelling "Da na na na na na na na na... BATMAN!" The funny thing is, as I am writing this I can hear Abbey yelling Batman in the background.

Aunt Jami is a great babysitter. Abbey loves being outside even when it's blistering cold. Luckily Aunt Jami doesn't mind treating her to a little slide action in the snow.

Abbey loves to sit in her rocking chair wrapped in her Strawberry Shortcake Quilt. Since this is Jami's birthday post, we must mention she made both. Abbey's new love is sitting in the rocking chair with the quilt in her lap while reading a book. Thank you Aunt Jami for making it so my kid can read in comfort.

Abbey's first Forth of July. Jami decided to try her hand at baby head accessories. Check out the sweet red, white, and blue star headband. Next year maybe she can add some fireworks to it.

And last but certainly not least, this blog is made possible because of Jami's tenacity. She always seems to find time to update the blog and keep everyone up to date on the life of her favorite Niece. Thank you, and we love you Aunt Jami. Happy Happy Birthday.

18 Months??

Abbey turns 18 months next week!! I can't believe it! So what is this big 18 month old like??

Well...

Abbey is quickly becoming a toddler.

Abbey loves to make messes. Personally, I think it is just because she wants to take a bath.

Abbey loves to pray. Whenever she hears you say Father she immediatly folds her arms.

Abbey loves her baby doll. She won't go to bed without her. She loves to give her hugs and kisses. She has recently started to rock her baby too.

Abbey loves Jesus. It is so cute when she points to his picture and says Jesus. It just melts your heart

Abbey loves to draw. She is always grabbing pencils and paper.

Abbey loves putting food on her head! I don't get it, but some how she always ends up with food in her hair after she eats.

Abbey loves Special Agent Oso. She will sit through an entire episode, it's the best babysitter in the world!

Abbey loves to blow her nose. This is another thing I don't get about her. She will drag me into the bathroom so I can get her a square of toilet paper and then she'll rub it on her nose. Then she proceeds to throw it on my floor. I am trying to teach her to put it in the trash can but she can't seem to understand why she should put it there. This is what happens when she tries to get it herself. I apologize that my daughter is in her pajama's and her hair is all crazy, she had just woken up.

Abbey loves to laugh! This is one of my favorite things to hear in the world.

Christmas...a little late

This was Abbey's main present from Santa. I made the quilt for Abbey, so she and her doll would have matching quilts. Thanks for the bed Derek and Shelley!
She LOVED her present!

She loved trying to lie on the bed and the baby pillow. It's a little hard to tell but she is trying to lay on the little doll pillow, not the baby.

She also was lucky enough to get a stroller. She loves it so much. She is always running around the house with it, going over anything in her way.

Ryan and I got her a doctors set. Abbey is terrified of the doctors so I am hoping by playing doctor at home she won't be so afraid. Initial reaction: Not working!

Abbey enjoyed sitting on the presents just as much as opening them.

My Little Pianist

Abbey's new favorite toy is the piano. Whenever we are at my parent's house she always seems to migrate towards the piano. I love hearing her bang on the keys, stop, turn the page of whatever piano book she can reach, and then continue to play. My absolute favorite is when she starts singing while playing. It is just so cute.

I can't believe that it is already December and the Christmas season! Where has this year gone? It has been so much fun to see the difference in Abbey between last Christmas season and this Christmas season. Abbey has loved it so far, especially the music. Abbey was blessed on Saturday, November 28th. We were lucky enough to have all of our immediate family there (except for Craig who is serving a mission) and a few extended family and friends. Nursery Update

Abbey's Big Day

after what seemed like 9 years instead of 9 months, on August 29th at 6:39 am. our little girl was born. She weighed in at a whopping 6 pounds 7 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.

Welcome Abbey Jean Campbell.

What a trooper mom was. 9 months of pure sickness, and then 26 hours of labor and an epidural that didn't work and she still looks great.

What in the world did I just get myself into. ( a whole lot of not sleeping that's for sure)

look how small those are.

I was lucky enough to have my dad and brother kyle up that weekend from St. George to see Kurt play a football game up north.

And of course Aunt Jami loves her new little niece. I would have put pics of Bill and the gang but he didn't send me any of those pics. But just to let everyone know, they did come and support us too.

That says it all right there!!!

The Baby's Room fiasco

So I decided to paint the baby's room to make it look like a little girls room as we awaited our beautiful baby. For some reason I thought i'd do light green walls with a plaid accent wall. What was i thinking??? Here's a brief overview of the ordeal I went through.

so first had to measure the horizontal lines, and chalk line them straight. Then I started the taping process .

Taping finished, look at those super straight lines.

Then I started the painting process, reverting back to the old days making sure I colored between the lines.

Took off the tape and my heart stopped... I didn't realize that if you have textured walls the seal from the tape sucks, and that your paint will bleed the whole way across the wall. :(

So Kari was reading online to help me fix the problem and came across a site that said if you have textured walls you can paint a clear coat over the tape and wall and that will cause a seal. Then paint your colors and remove the tape and you'll get a nice clean line.... so after i RETAPED the whole darn thing AGAIN... I did the clear coat, and when I removed the tape low and behold, a nice clean line.

the finished product. Oh yeah you guys were expecting to see a plaid wall weren't you? Well I really wanted to finish it, but I made an executvie decision knowing that if i did the vertical lines and it didn't work, i'd have to repaint the whole wall white again and start over. For those of you that know me, you know i'd never in a million years do that. So I decided to just let well enought alone and stick with a horizontal line accent wall.
